I'm having the most fantastic time doing school visits ... reading from Hallow Hour and talking about writing and other cool stuff. So far, I've visited grades 5,6 and 7 students at St. Matthew's, Cowan Heights Elementary, Leary's Brook Junior High, Goulds Elementary, and Rennie's River Elementary. N&L has absolutely the most awesome kids ever!
Back at Beachy Cove to sign yet more copies of Hallow Hour. While I'm signing books in the foreground of the photo, behind me grade 6 students are curled up in the background reading copies of my novel. So cool!!
Did my first school reading at Beachy Cove Elementary (where I was a student from K-6.) Read to 192 kids in grades 5&6. They were fantastic! Awesome questions you guys! It was a magical experience. Thanks so much Ms. Godden!
I had an amazing weekend in Halifax at the Word on the Street Book Festival. Gave my first live reading from Hallow Hour on Sunday. I was a bit nervous about it but, with coaching and encouragement from my friend, novelist Donna Morrissey, it went well. Really enjoyed myself. A fantastic festival!! Congrats to Genevieve and all the organizers. And a great big thank-you.
Signing copies of my book in Halifax.

I've been invited to be a guest author at the Word on the Street festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Sunday, September 22nd. I'll be reading from and talking about my novel Hallow Hour in the Vibrant Voices tent, next to the visitor information centre 1:45-2:30pm. And I'll be signing copies of my book in the bookseller's tent after my reading. I'm excited to meet Young Adult Fantasy readers from Nova Scotia. See you there!!
