MORE BIG NEWS: 5:00 am this morning I finished writing the manuscript for book four of the Surreality Series, The Black. Last week I wrote book three, Firefly. DONE!! It's done! I've finished the entire series before I turn twenty. This is the first series I've finished writing and it's an amazing feeling. At this point Firefly is almost 300 pages and The Black is closer to 400. Gotta go out with a bang!
I've been invited by Canada Council for the Arts to be a delegate to the National Forum on the Literary Arts, in Montreal - Feb.14th & 15th. Leave this Thursday. Really looking forward to meeting other writing professionals from across Canada. Lots to talk about.
Friday past, October 11th, I had the tremendous pleasure of reading from Hallow Hour live via skype to a group of girls students in Bulera, Uganda. I believe in universal girl-child education and am a supporter of the Teachers Action for Girls campaign of the Canadian Teachers Federation. The reading was an amazing experiece and an awesome way to celebrate UN International Day of the Girl Child . A big hi to all my friends in Uganda!
Today the ebook version of Hallow Hour was released. Through various sites, including Amazon, it is available for purchase in Australia, UK, France, Germany, Brazil, Denmark, USA, Italy, Netherlands, Mexico, Brazil, New Zealand, Turkey, Spain, Austria, India, Hong Kong and Japan. Of course, it's available in Canada through Indigo and Amazon and all the usual culprits. So ... what are ya waiting for?
I've been invited to be a guest author at the Word on the Street festival in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Sunday, September 22nd. I'll be reading from and talking about my novel Hallow Hour in the Vibrant Voices tent, next to the visitor information centre 1:45-2:30pm. And I'll be signing copies of my book in the bookseller's tent after my reading. I'm excited to meet Young Adult Fantasy readers from Nova Scotia. See you there!!
